La Rosa Elementary School was named after the La Rosa family of Ceres. The La Rosa family originally owned the land upon which the school was built.
In 2011, the campus received the addition of two new buildings; an administration-library complex and an additional classroom wing. This facility also includes a meeting room to ensure confidentiality of student information during parent conferences.
The new instructional wing opened to students and teachers during the 2011- 2012 school year. This building houses a pre-school class, a severely handicapped kindergarten-first grade class, and a severely handicapped pre-school class, as well as restrooms for student use.
La Rosa Elementary School is a tobacco free school.
